Our last day in Labuan Bajo
I wanted to be here for another day, but this day was the last day *sigh*. So, I only could enjoy what’s gonna happen ๐ . Okay! Back to the reality on our third day. We started at 8 a.m. from the hotel. We would get on board towards Padar Island which is really famous in Labuan Bajo. In my opinion, it is better to go earlier or it will be hotter during the day.
This time, we took a speed boat because of the further distance than yesterday. According to our guide, the best time to visit here is from March to April because the wave is calm. We visited here in June while it was the time for โthe southeast seasonโ. The big waves often hit our speed boat, so we would get wet if we were outside. For me, it was more comfortable to be outside because the air was fresher.
There was a toilet inside the boat that they keep its cleanliness. Throw the toilet paper on the trash can that has been provided, never throw them into the toilet!
Finally, we arrived on Padar Island!
We arrived at about 9 a.m., and it was really hot! I saw a high hill with its wood stair from a distance, and that burnt my trekking spirit. I didnโt forget to bring a bottle of water and controlled my energy, so that I could reach the hilltop.
The trekking path is a wooden stairs and it is continued by the stone stairs. The higher up, the more I was afraid of heights, and I began tired. Fortunately, my guide always talked to me so that I was not focused on the height. My guide cheered me up! ๐
On this hill, you would see how beautiful our nature. View of a hill that was surrounded by the blue ocean. You would see the blue sky and heard the sound of an ocean wave here. That was amazing. How small we were in the middle of His Great creation! Actually, I was only at the end of the stone stairs because I was afraid to went down *laughing*
Finally, I went down successfully *cheers*, and the best present for me was a young coconut which cost thirty thousand rupiahs. It was rather expensive, but I enjoyed it very much because I was thirsty ๐
Met the Komodo (again) at Loh Liang National Park
Suddenly, we were talking about seeing the Komodo again because we had seen them yesterday. But, It would sound strange if we visited Labuan Bajo but hadn’t met them on Komodo Island. And we decided to visit them again on Komodo Island. In my opinion, if you only want to see how Komodo looks like etc., you can choose one of your favourite places. But, visiting these two places wouldn’t disappoint you too, because you will see how beautiful each view is.
Arrived at Loh Liang National Park, we met the ranger, and they gave us some information. We chose the short track because we were tired after trekked on Padar Island. Although we decided on a short track, we still enjoyed this beautiful view.
Pink = white + red
We can find this unique beach in only a few places, and one of them in Labuan Bajo! Why is it called pink beach?Because it has pink sand that is a combination of white sand and red coral fragments. We are strictly prohibited from bringing this sand home. It is better to take a picture of the sand ๐
On this beach, you can find an incredible underwater scenery. There are a lot of beautiful fishes and coral reefs. Before taking the underwater pictures, you should bring an underwater camera or protect your smartphone with a waterproof case.
Last destination : Kanawa Island
We went towards Kanawa Island, because our snorkeling time at Manta Point was canceled, due to the heavy waves. Just for information, we can snorkel with a lot of Manta rays here. Manta rays are the largest species of ray. But, they aren’t dangerous because their tail doesn’t sting.
Kanawa Island gave us a wonderful view on our last holiday. The stretch of white sand with its sparkling sea and the sunset sky that made me relaxed. It was comfortable to take a rest or snorkeled here. I played swing then I found a lot of starfish and some big clamshells, when I walked on the seashore.
The next day before we went home, we bought some souvenirs at Exotic Komodo Souvenir Shop. It is located in front of Komodo Airport, so you can relax and don’t worry about being late. This shop sells various kinds of souvenirs such as t -shirts, key chains, tote bags, mugs, coffee and etc. Are you feeling hungry? You can order your food at Exotic restaurant which is beside it.
At the end of my journey, I thanked our local guide that had accompanied us for 4 days and 3 nights. The beautiful sceneries, the extreme activities, and the hospitality of people that we had met, made my holiday very perfect!
